The Leadership Conference is known for presenting world-class speakers and provocative thought-leaders. This tradition continues in 2019:

Tony La Russa, Hall of Fame Manager, and Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) Co-Founder

Tony La Russa led his teams to three World Series titles (1989, 2006, and 2011) as a professional baseball manager and accumulated the third most managerial wins (2,728) in Major League Baseball history. That total is only 35 wins behind John McGraw, and 1,003 behind Connie Mack. La Russa, inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014, currently serves the Boston Red Sox as Vice President, Special Assistant to the President of Baseball Operations.

The catalyst for ARF came in 1990 when, in the middle of a televised baseball game between the Oakland Athletics and the New York Yankees, a stray cat ran onto the field, causing a delay until she was secured in the A’s dugout. It was only after La Russa and his wife Elaine tried to find a suitable adoption resource for “Evie” that they discovered the lack of a no-kill shelter in the East Bay region. The couple co-founded Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) as a progressive resource for animal welfare. Since 1991, the foundation has become not only a rescue and adoption source for animals, but also a much-lauded center for education and enrichment for people and animals. ARF’s national headquarters in California offers programs including service-dog training for military veterans; animal therapy teams who interact with hospital patients, elderly and at-risk students; humane education for all ages and Pet Safety Net programs for families at-risk of surrendering an animal to a shelter.

Jeff Bush, Washington Insider

A dynamic and insightful speaker and author, Jeff Bush is known for his unique ability to translate difficult and confusing tax and fiscal information coming out of Washington D.C. into winning growth strategies for business owners, executives and high net worth investors.  Jeff is a colleague of Andy Friedman and an integral part of The Washington Update, the industry’s nonpartisan experts on all things Washington.

In the 2012 presidential election, Jeff accurately predicted the outcome 14 months in advance as well as predicting the republican sweep in Congress in 2014. Jeff also predicted the fiscal cliff outcome that lead to the single largest tax increase in dollar terms in US history. In the 2016 congressional elections, Jeff predicted Senate control would follow the White House. This advice gave investors and their professional advisors an opportunity to prepare for the political changes that would impact their bottom line.

Jeff presents more than 200 times yearly in the US and abroad to a client base that includes a who’s who list of fortune 500 firms from Wall Street to Main Street and everywhere in between.  Jeff is a 30-year veteran of the financial industry. By the end of his career on Wall Street, he was managing a $50+ sales billion business.  Before that, Jeff was the youngest managing partner in the 150-year history of The New England Financial. You may have seen Jeff on CNBC’s Nightly Business report or heard him on POTUS XM radio. He is considered Wall Street’s Washington insider and, politically speaking, Jeff is known for being America's foremost equal opportunity offender.
